Exposure
Systems
Light sources are an important part of stencil creation. A strong multi-spectral light source exposes emulsion completely. Emulsion is sensitive to spectral output in the 380n and 420n range. A multi spectral system with sufficient wattage to penetrate the entire emulsion film thickness provides optimum control to obtain precise durable stencils.
If you are a textile printer using automatics your stencils will be stronger with a good exposure system, especially if you print discharge or waterbase inks. These ink systems break down screens that are not exposed properly. Combining a good exposure unit with an emulsion specifically designed for Waterbase, Discharge, and Plastisol like Aquasol HV or TS insures durable stencils for these difficult ink systems.
If you are a graphics printer the benefits of using a multi-spectral bulb also provide stronger stencils, precise exposure times, better halftone reproduction, and more predictable tonal print results.
Murakami USA can provide an overall assessment of your stencil operations and provide critical information to help you select equipment that will help you create optimum screens for production and all ink systems.
